8 Reasons to Love Milwaukee Brewers Baseball

Bill and Joan Koehne at a Milwaukee Brewers game at Wrigley Field

In 2026, October couldn’t come soon enough for me. My favorite team, the Milwaukee Brewers, is in the Major League Baseball playoffs. The team plays the San Diego Padres in the National League Division Series this week. The MLB playoffs remind me of my trip to Miller Park for Game 6 of the National League Championship Series in 2018. As a Brewers fan since 2011, I’ve never experienced an atmosphere quite like that MLB playoff game. Game 6 was a heart-pumping, high-fiving three hours of fun. The excitement ended abruptly in Game 7, just one win short of the World Series. I’m hoping for a different outcome this year. I hope that 2026 is the Brewer’s magical year.

8 reasons to become a loyal Milwaukee Brewers fan

AmFam Field

As one of the most kid-friendly stadiums in the Major Leagues, AmFam Field is great for adults, too. I love how easy it is to park and tailgate in the lot and simply walk a few blocks to the entrance. The stadium is modern, clean, safe, and is equipped with a roof for bad weather.

Games are fun

The crowd is so involved in the games, following the play on the field and enjoying the music and jumbotron between innings. The sausage races are a big highlight. So is the “Roll Out the Barrel” sing-along during the 7th inning stretch.

Summer lasts forever

Baseball is a summer game, and nothing makes summer last longer than the 162-game MLB season. The excitement starts in April, and the team is still going strong in October. Once you get inside the ballpark, it feels like summertime, no matter the season.

Faster pace

MLB implemented several rules changes to speed up the game, and it’s a nice improvement. Time flies, and it’s easier to stay engaged because there’s less downtime. I can catch a game and still get to sleep at a decent hour, unless the Brewers play on the West Coast.

Fair calls

The video reviews and Automated Ball-Strike (ABS) Challenge System bring a higher level of fairness to baseball games. I am glad that the MLB preserved the human umpires while also incorporating the latest technology. It’s the right blend of tradition and innovation.

A winning team

The Brewers won a record-breaking 103 games this season and won the National League Central Division for the fourth year in a row. What a thrill to be caught up in the excitement of a winning season. I sure have lots to cheer about!

Home and away

My Mother’s Day gift was a trip to Wrigley Field to watch the Brewers beat the Chicago Cubs, 5-0. The first time my husband, Bill, and I cheered for the Brewers, everyone turned to stare at us. It was fun to experience another MLB ballpark and see the Brewers win.

Cheer for an underdog

The Milwaukee Brewers rank 19th out of 30 teams in Major League Baseball for payroll. Brewers’ players play at a level that’s above their pay rate. While economics make them an underdog, performance shows they can run with the big dogs. I hope this continues in the playoffs.

MLB Playoffs are Here: Go Brewers!

Playoff baseball creates an electric atmosphere, powered by 43,000 fans plugged into every pitch, swing, and nuance of the game. I’ll follow the team closely this playoff season. I really hope that this amazing 103-win season ends with a victory at the World Series. Be a part of the excitement and cheer on the Brew Crew!
